Cherry Blossoms

Cherry blossoms symbolize the delicate and ephermeral nature of life. There are centuries-old practices of enjoying a picnic or party under a cherry tree in bloom. In some places, you can enjoy a late-night picnic with paper lanterns to heighten the ambiance. The blooming period can last up to 14 days, so it’s a rush to see them before next year for blooms.

A cherry blossom festival is held every year from Okinawa to Hokkaido. Starting as early as January, the cherry blossoms bloom and people flock to see. Prime time to see them is March though May.
